MTN - never ever again

I placed an order for a new home data contract. Speaking to the agent she said I will receive delivery in 3 to 10 days. After 2 weeks this order was still pending and no delivery. Phoning the call center was even a bigger frustration than the waiting: 1st call - Got cut off 2nd call - got put through to a different call center and got cut off before the call could be completed (no call back) 3 rd call - got yelled at by the agent and I requested to speak to a different agent. 4th call - (after being transferred) now the agent could not put me through again like the previous agent could. He gave me a number that I had to dial. 5th call - agent could not explain why my application was still pending, made apology that it is taking so long and then I requested for it to be cancelled. No remorse, no effort to salvage the deal and no explanation.

Thinking that I will get better service if I go to my local MTN store, I decided to go to my local MTN store and re-apply for the same contract. After spending 30 minutes in the queue and then almost another hour to process the new application, the so-called consultant could not get my address on her system, and even after I showed her exactly on google maps where I'm staying (and even on her map) she still said that she cannot complete the application as she can't find my address on her system. How does that even make sense?? I even offered to give her my exact GPS coordinates, but she insisted that she cannot use it and can only use the physical address. On the coverage map of MTN it clearly shows my area being covered but because she cant find my address on her system she also did not want to complete the application unless I agree to accept the risk of maybe not having coverage. Who is providing the service here? How can I be forced to accept the risk that I might not have coverage. IT'S ABSURD! I walked out of the MTN store and will never make use of MTN again. Absolutely pathetic customer care and customer service from MTN online and the MTN store in Kathu.
