MTN negligence with our information *****ulent Sim Swap

Someone did a sim swap with my number *****ulent without my concern so now can’t access my cellphone number or WhatsApp Business and they are texting people pretending to be me asking for money I contacted MTN South Africa I was advise to visit the branch to make a sim swap reversal and my question is that in future how are they gonna be able to prevent such activity not to happen again why is our information not safe or a priority to them they are not protecting our information due to their system negligence I must use money to travel to sort out their own negligence
