MTN (My Terrible Nightmare)
So heavily disappointed in the level of service I got from MTN customer service staff its pathetic
So I called in to block/blacklist a missing phone. First attempt to getting through to the call center, unsuccessful but I tried again, gave the customer service agent my story only to hear that the system is down and that he cannot process anything I should call back again. I call again a few hours later, so it seems like the system's back online. I tell the call center lady that the sim I used on the missing phone I've been using in my current device as I havent been using the missing device in a while. I gave the IMEI number of the missing device and she proceeds) only to hear that its not working its probably our system thats down...ooh now Im starting to get overly annoyed but I bare. She then tells me that she will try again during the day and can sms me the ITC number (I give her the number that Im using on m y new device). Later the day I receive sms notification that the blacklisting was successful and received the ITC number. So the day after I noticed that my MTN network is down ( I use both MTN & Telkom on my device) I brush it off, thinking It would probably come back online later..Get a call from the insurer after they ran their checks and it seems like the ITC number does not correspond with the missing device's model number. I then realized something was very fishy. Itried contacting MTN from my telkom device (what a nightmare) the voice prompt kept telling me that they have a high volume of calls and to enter the number im querying about (which i did) but the voice prompt just restarts that message (annoying) I waited and tried and tried and tried again (NO LUCK)..so now im past annoyed..I tried online chat (what a waste of data) I get connected then disconnected right after i sent through my message (long message to be exact) I tried that 3 times and everytime i get connected to an agent i get kicked off...I tried calling different numbers untill i eventually got a number that works...I explain to the agent what happened and then told I will be transferred to another department, explain to the next agent only to be transferred to another (Im keeping calm even though im fuming now). So finally at the right department now, explain my story, to find out that I blacklisted 2 devices but 1 was unsuccessful and one was successful. So my current device was blacklisted off the mtn network ( i asked the lady how can they do that without me giving my IMEI number) she couldn't answer me..So to some things up, my missing device was never blacklisted and my current one is. I asked the agent to undo it but I was then told to go to the police station and get an affidavit explaining why my device was blacklisted off the network and send it back to them. So now this has become my problem now!!! Why cant MTN FIX IT!!!!
