MTN Month-to-month contract cancellation disaster!

I want to bring to your attention the issues I've been facing with MTN's month-to-month contract, which supposedly allows for cancellation at any time. I've been trying to cancel my contract for the past two months without success. According to MTN, the only way to cancel the contract is to return the router to any MTN store. I did exactly that on July 29th, 2024, and completed the cancellation forms in the store. Despite this, I am still being charged, and the contract has not been canceled. I even stopped the debit orders, but MTN threatened to report me to the credit bureau for a device that is sitting in their warehouse while I am still expected to keep paying for it.

I've exhausted all my attempts to resolve this issue with MTN. I've reached out to them on all their platforms, but they keep leading me back and forth, ignoring me, or cutting the calls. This situation is just ridiculous, to say the least.
