MTN Mobile Insurance

MTN is supposed to be one of our TOP Mobile Service Providers and they always advertise what WONDERFUL SERVICE they provide their clients. This is the reason I joined their company!!!! When I tried to put a claim in for a phone I got on contract including the MTN insurance (keeping in mind I have been with MTN for 5 years) they refused to help me. The MTN consultant which sold me the contract was extremly helpful (because MTN is now getting money). I advised the consultant that the phone will be using a different sim card, the consultant advised me that will be fine and that the insurance will cover the phone for damages, loss or ******. Now when I tried putting in a claim (again, keeping in mind that I have been paying for insurance with MTN for 5 years), I was informed that due to the MTN sim card not being in the phone when the phone went missing, the claim can not be possessed. I was also told that due to the consultant which sold me the contract did not indicate that the phone will be using a different sim card in the contract, they can not approve the claim. Then MTN cancelled my insurance just like that over the phone. I MEAN WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT MTN ADVERTISES??????? I would not recommend MTN to anyone I know, due to the lack of customer service. I mean 5 years with a company and the can’t even assist you when you need it, even if you pay for a service to help you when you need it.

The insurance policy stated that if a different cell and sim card number will be used in the device that is insured the insurance company have to approve this for a claim to be approved. If the agent at the store Cell network in Durbanville informed you with the wrong information this need to be taken up with the store manager.

If you have time please visit the store and speak to the store manager regarding the wrong information received, from our side we have escalated the complaint to the store manager to intervene here.

We pick up that the insurance has not as yet been cancelled, this was escalated to Pinnacle for further assistance.
