MTN misleads customers

I made the bold move from Vodacom to MTN in May. What a mistake. I moved because MTN had a great deal on a Samsung Note 4 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 CPU. This enticed me to port my number to them and cancelling my contract with MTN.

I got my Note 4, but it had the Exynos processor instead of the Qualcomm as advertised. I then emailed them, plenty of times, yet till this day, nobody contacted me. I received autoresponses and one email to ask me for my email address. This was not all, they also advertised 30G data and the consultant on the phone told me I will get 2G data per month for 12 months. Instead, I am billed for data if I go over 1G (maybe even 500M).

My account was even suspended once because I went over my spend limit with my data.

This company is the worst in the world. I finally got hold of the sales person who sold me this contract. She told me to send in my phone. She even sujested that |I send my phone in so that a software update might solve my problems.

Since I've read all the complaints about MTN, there is no chance I am sending in my phone to MTN, because I'll never see it again, until I have a guarantee of a replacement. They are still running this special and still they are deceiving new cutomers. This company is not only bad, but evil!

Is this incompetence ot deliberate deception? I am not sure.

I have even tried to registed on MTN Active to try and fighure out my account myself, yet MTN Active tells me that my phone number is not a valid MTN number. Wow, they do not even know I am a customer of theirs.

Please people, be warned!!!

Reviewer Update

Just an update: The ASA has ruled and found MTN guilty of misleading its customers concerning the Note 4 and the Snapdragon processor and ruled that MTN must correct the data. MTN has not done anything in response. They have not even contacted me or changed the data on the website. My move to MTN is still my worst decision ever.

So MTN, the ASA ruled that you have misled me with your promotion. When are you going to act on it? Probably never. What must I do more to convince you to give me what I am paying for?
