MTN - MISLEADING SALES STRATEGY
RE: Reference *** On the 07th Jan 2022, I called your customer care to give a month notice on both my mtn contracts that were expiring on 08th and 09th February 2022.
I received sms confirmation that my contracts will be terminated and end February 2022 will received the last invoice with a final debit order scheduled 20th Feb 2022.
Today I received a call from your retention department and I clearly stated to your consultant that i made informed decision to proceed with cancelation and both my numbers to be converted to pre-paid.
Your consultant mislead me and advise that to retain my number on the network, MTN will offer a 2GB data free of charge monthly no charge at all and this option is available to retain my numbers on network. I asked couple of times is thus free and her answer was YES , I asked her to confirm our conversation that the 2GB is free and she said she will conf on email shortly this afternoon. Around 19h30 , I made a follow-up call with your customer care as I haven’t received the email confirmation since the initial call I received around 14h30, that's when the customer care consultant advised me that the free 2GB option is only valid for 3 months, then after 3 months I am on a month to month contract, your retention consultant failed to disclose this critical information dispete me explaining to her that I'm not ready for any contracts renewal ,hence I requested these contracts to be terminated and converted to prepaid. Her intention for not disclosing the 3 months period was misleading hence she couldn't even confirm on email.
Please can you make sure these contracts are terminated as they already expired.
