MTN misleading and providing d

Thoroughly appalled and disgusted with MTN. They use these useless call centres that seem to be more interested in their commission so conning a customer doesn't seem to bother them. My 2 contracts were due for an upgrade in April 2018. My phones were still fine so I didn't rush in to upgrade. By November 2018 I started getting bombarded with calls from an MTN call centre agent trying to offer me upgrades. He kept on calling all day at work, in the evenings and even left messages with my wife who uses the other phone to arrange to speak with me. When I told him I wasn't interested in the upgrades he was offering he then told me I should upgrade to sim only contracts as I will save since I didn't take new handsets. I told him that I do intend taking upgrades with handsets in the near future (a month or two). He was adamant that even after he upgraded me to the sim only contracts that I could walk into any store in the future and upgrade whenever I was ready. I even asked a second time he was adamant. I agreed only to find out I was conned when I went in to do the handset upgrade. I was then given the run around. I had to call customer care which really doesn't care. Then I was told this had to be sorted out with the call centre company that did the upgrade. The customer"care" consultant then told me an email will be sent to another department to enquire. IT TOOK ONLY ONE PHONE CALL TO DO THE UPGRADE THOUGH!!!. I finally called back to cancel my contracts with MTN only to be told the process is to cancel the "upgrade" which could take 3 working days or more. "If successful" I can apply to cancel the contracts. The laughing bit of this is that when I asked how will I be notified of the progress, I was told that I will need to call back as often as I feel necessary to get updated. THERE'S SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR YOU!!!. For now I'm stuck with this bull**** sim only contracts and I have to take a new contract with another service provider with more integrity and customer service in mind. Please be careful. Don't get conned to...
