MTN misleading

I was contacted by MTN/CCI informing me that my contract is due for an upgrade. I decided on the Huawei P20 lite with came with 350 meg data 50 anytime minutes and 50 SMS's witch as I understood came with a Huawei router that also will have 500 meg monthly for 24 months on a promotional offer. I received both devices in good time but there was no simcard for the router. I did phone there call centre and I was told that the phone call recording of our conversation was reviewed and the consultant said nothing about a second sim card. I really feel that I am paying for something I am not getting. I also find it very strange to receive a device from MTN without any simcard.
