MTN *******ly charging device cancellation fee on a number that had been cancelled and had already completed its 24 months contract period.

I have three contracts with MTN. I decided to cancel one of my contract when it coma to an end on 6 September 2023. I gave MTN a cancellation notice in May 2023 telling them that once my contract come to an end i want it cancelled. They told me to give them a notice in August 2023 since the contract ends on 6 September. I did exactly as advised. on 6 September 2023, early in the morning, MTN cancelled my contract and I even forfeited my 149 minutes and 6.94 GB of data. I was never told that when my cell number change from contract to prepaid I will forfeit my current bundles. eventually I made peace with the loss. I was however suprised when my bill for the perios 12 September to 11 October 2023 came with a device cancellation fee, yet my contract was cancelled after it has lapsed. I lodged a dispute with MTN before the end o September 2023,. An sms with a reference number was provided to me nd i was advised to call after 3 working days for outcome.

I called after three days and i was holding the line for more than an hour. i end up giving up. I then call MTN again after three days and i experienced the same situation.

few days later, MTN started sending me sms threatening to suspend my other numbers, which they eventually did while i was still waiting for them to correct their bill. I then receive a bill for the period 12 October to 11 November last week which also included the amount of the previous bill I had lodged a dispute on. I only paid the current bill and then send a follow up email to MTN regarding the dispute. To date, MTN has not responded yet my other numbers remain suspended without explanation.
