MTN loves BAIT MARKETING probably since they always get away with it

MTN yello trader and MTNs business ethic is really questionable.

I have recently been looking for a new phone when I came across a Sony Xperia 10 Plus for R99 per month for 24 months in the September booklet under reference of *** CT00215.

I thought this was an amazing deal to which i contacted MTN direct and I was informed that I could not order that phone since it was not in stock. (I wonder how you advertise something and have no stock of it on the first day)

She advised me to go to a physical store and they will be able to order it for me.

I have done that and the store advised me that this phone is part of their spring clearance and they do not have any stock. I should try another store. I then realised this is going to be a run around and decided to call almost all the stores in Bloemfontein to get this deal.

I spoke to MTN college square where she told me first of all I must provide proof of the advert. I gave her the reference number as well as the page which i saw on the book. She then informed that Sony has left South Africa and MTN will not ever be able to sell me that phone. She saw the advert and then told me she will inquire about stock.

So I read up myself and its true Sony has left South Africa and it will be very difficult to get a Sony phone in SA..

I am really shocked and disappointed. Shocked because Sony has long been outside of South Africa and disappointed because I truly wanted the phone at that price and it does not seem like I will get it.

I think MTN is guilty of bait marketing and this is *******. I am complaining on hellopeter because if you phone anyone at MTN you just get the run around.
