MTN lost my phone

I sent my iphone 6s to MTN Newtown as the phone had difficulties charging.I was informed that the phone would be taken for ***essment and would possibly receive a new phone as it is under warranty. I was advised to contact MTN HVR after three weeks and I did just that and to my surprise I was informed that my phone had "liquid damage" and therefore the warranty was rejected. Its been over 5 weeks now and I was charged over R700 by MTN so I called MTN Newtown to enquire about my phone and the breakdown of the R700. I was informed that they do not have my phone and I was advised to call MTN HVR.I called MTN HVR and was informed my phone was delivered to the store.I then called the store and was told they do not have my phone.

We (including MTN) do not know where my phone is and I'm being charged for services that I do not know of.

What actions can I take?

How do I prove that there is no water damage on my phone?

How do I trace my phone?

Will I be reimbursed for all the charges that I do not know of?

Is it advisable to cancel the contract with MTN?
