MTN living in the dark ages

In this day and age a drivers license that contains a ID number does not suffice.A green barcoded ID is needed. You would think with all security questions in place at MTN this would not be an issue. How can an ID book be anymore credible than a drivers license. There is so much ***** out there it looks legit but security questions would be the deal breaker.I just recently upgraded a data contract at Vodacom using my drivers license with no issue.I even canceled another Vodacom data contract over the phone. No issues either way.Was not even asked for a green barcoded ID.Just answered the required security questions which i passed. When i phoned MTN to complain about this issue i was told it is because of *****. As far as i understand MTN is only looking at your ID number which is well presented on your drivers license.Whilst complaining, low and behold the call drops. You would think MTN would phone you back. Great service MTN offers its clients. ******* network and bad client service delivery.I just went into the bank recently to collect credit cards using a drivers license.Received an sms from MTN about a complimentary LTE sim and that i would recieve a call.Still waiting for a call

Hello complain-ant,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I am terribly sorry for the inconveniences experienced as a result this. I completely understand the frustration it causes. Kindly note that it is a requirement for a customer to provide with a bar coded ID as per the regulator.

Best regards
Mantoa
