MTN leaving me without a phone!

On Friday 13 January 2017 is signed up for two MTN Contracts on the MTN Direct line ( ********** 667). I wanted to port our 2 numbers but weren't sure when it would be released from the old service provider. Nadine who helped me promised to phone me back later that afternoon to confirm a porting date. That return call never happened.

Since then (almost a month ago) I have called MTN multiple times, each time having to wait an average of 20 minutes for an operator to answer. Each time I enquired about the process and progress and when the port will happen. No one could answer that simple question, since Nadine who signed me up, had to answer that. Many times I was promised that I would get a call back. Still I did not receive any call backs.

Out of frustration I went to a MTN store where I was adviced that they cannot help me, since I signed up via the phone. I just have to keep phoning them.

On the 24th of January I finally received an sms informing them that my contract was approved and that the courier company would contact me about delivery.

After not receiving any phone calls from the courier company I called MTN again, and the person to whom I spoke said that I can expect delivery on Monday 30th or Tuesday the 31st of January.

On 1 February I received an sms informing me that the process of porting my number is about to begin. Since I still haven't received a phone or sim, or even a simple call back, I phoned MTN again (probably the 10th call) at around 15:00 after I finished up a meeting.

I was informed that my number was about to be ported and that my sim card would stop working at 19:00 today. They would see what they could do and phone me back.

Since I didn't receive a call back, I phoned again just after 16:00, after being transferred multiple times a supervisor answered just before 17:00. I explained the situation and that my wife and I, who are both in professional jobs, cannot be without phones. She just said that they did everything they can and can't do anything further, not even stop the port since it is already close to 5pm.

This is absolutely terrible customer service, and I am sorry I didn't stay with Cell C where I never had an issue. So for now my wife and I will be without active phone lines, while both our jobs demand that we be available 24/7...

Thanks

I am still awaiting my 50Gb and 10000 MTN to MTN minutes that I'm supposed to get every month. When will this be sorted out?
