MTN is worse than Eskom when it comes to service

I write on Hello Peter AGAIN just to complain about the worst telecommunications company in SA (MTN). On 13 March 2013 I took out a 24 MONTH contract with MTN and in February I sent an email to MTN asking theme to cancel my contract because I was not looking to upgrade. I received a response from the retentions department informing me that my request will be actioned. I went to the MTN store at Sandton City on 07/04/2015 where I was advised by Stella that my contract is still active and she told me that I can't cancel via email, I then told her that I don't have time to sit on the phone the whole day because MTN takes a decade to answer the phone. Stella informed me that I will receive a call from MTN to confirm the cancellation and I am still waiting. On 17 April I went back to the MTN at Sandton City and I was informed that they cannot find the cancellation for that I filled in store and they will ask Stella about it, the lady in store made me fill in another form! I am really fed up of MTN with their pathetic service, I am not asking for mu have I just want you to cancel this contract and stop billing me for an expired contract!!
