MTN is unable to provide any service for over a week due to network issues

Last week I tried to make several phone calls and each time was advised that "calls are barred for pay-as-you-go customers" .... I have a long standing contract, not a pay as you go service !!!! And there is a huge credit in my account covering Airtime, SMS, and Data .... none of which I have been able to use for over a week now.

The next day I went in to an MTN outlet to resolve the issue as this was now affecting my business. After much phoning, rebooting, removing cards and conversing with their "network fixing department" I was told that it is a network problem that they have, that I am not the only one effected and that they have technicians working on the problem ... please be patient and keep switching the phone off and on .... they even gave me a special number to prove my complaint.

The next morning I received an SMS stating that the network problem had been satisfactorily resolved. Well it hadn't .... the same message was there with every number I tried.... and move away from WiFi and no internet or data connections at all. I went back to the store and again we contacted the "powers who know all about network issues", even getting the local regional manager in to assist. Well the same reply ... they're sorry but it's a network issue and there's noting they can do, it's in the hands of their technical department.

That was all a week ago .... and still nothing has been resolved. I have not been contacted with an apology or an explanation. I am in huge credit on my account with MTN and services like data expire after a certain period .... even if you cannot use it they take your money anyway. Probably the hardest pill to swallow is that I have lost so much business so far ...and MTN doesn't care. So long as I pay my contract they couldn't care less about me as a customer .. They don't care if I am able to make use of the service I am contracted into.

And now they want me to renew my contract ...... MTN gives the worst contractual delivery service in South Africa.

BE WARNED ....
