MTN IS *****ULENT AND THE ARE *******

I am extremely frustrated with MTN and the way my account has been handled.

At the beginning of January, I took out a router contract, which was fine. However, at the end of that same month, I was billed more than expected. When I queried this, I was told that on 5 January, I had taken out two SIM cards — SIM cards that I never received.

I immediately contacted the ***** department. After several discussions, I was told there was a recording confirming that I had agreed to these SIM cards, and that it would be sent to customer care and the store. I was instructed to visit an MTN store to listen to it. When I got there, the store told me they do not receive such recordings and that I should get it from customer care instead. This back-and-forth was incredibly frustrating.

At that point, I decided I no longer wanted anything to do with these SIM cards and requested that the contract be cancelled. I went into a store and paid the cancellation fee as instructed.

In April, I was finally billed the correct amount for only my phone and router. But now, on my latest statement for May, those same SIM cards — which I never received — have been added back onto my account again.

I have repeatedly asked MTN to provide proof of delivery: where were these SIM cards delivered, and who signed for them? To date, they have not been able to answer this. Instead, I am now being told to cancel again and pay yet another cancellation fee.

How many times must I cancel something I never agreed to or received? Am I expected to keep paying cancellation fees every month for an error that is clearly not mine?

This experience has been exhausting and unacceptable. The lack of accountability, poor communication between departments, and continuous incorrect billing practices make this feel like outright exploitation. Customers deserve better than this.
