MTN IS THE WORST NETWORK PROVIDER IN SA BY FAR
This is the second time I have had to revert to this platform regarding the issue that I have. When I approached MTN in order to put a cancellation notice in place for my contract (both in store and via the contact centre), I was told that I can only initiate a cancellation notice exactly 30 days before the end of the contract. I was told that I could not do that before. This is totally unacceptable and just another example of how MTN tries to ***** its clients out of their money. Its the worst network that I have used to date. They have absolutely no regard for service levels. I previously posted a review on hellopeter and one of MTN's useless social media consultants called me. I explained the problem and she then told me that I misunderstood what the contact centre agent had told me. Even though I had been told the exact same thing in store. Still they have not cancelled my contract
MTN can you please cancel my damn contract!!!!! I just called the contact centre and they are not available.
IF YOU CALL ANY OTHER NETWORK PROVIDER IN SOUTH AFRICA RIGHT NOW, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR CALLS, BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT SERVICE LEVELS ARE. EVEN DURING THE LOCKDOWN. MTN's FRONTLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE DIVISION IS A JOKE. GET WITH THE PROGRAM. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE YOU TWITS.
I refuse to make any further payments beyond the 31st of May 2020. As I have twice now requested that my contract be cancelled at the end of this month
regards,
Roy Van Leeve

On the 15th April 20, I responded to your email where you asked, "I can move your number to Prepaid today and you can call the provider you wish to port to so they can process the port...Should I proceed?." I responded to have you proceed on the 30th April 20202 as this is when my contract with my new service provider will start .
In true MTN service style, my contract is still active, you have yet again debited my bank account - pathetic.
At this stage, I'm at my wit's end and I'm ever sorry that I ever agreed to join this network - MTN has absolute no idea what customer service means - what's the point of affordable plans but your NPS and FCR is not at the forefront at your business?
I reverted to visiting a store yesterday as my contract was still active and dealt with Mr Mthombeli Ntleki. He assured me that the contract would be cancelled by 12pm yesterday. Today, my contract is STILL active and I also realised that MTN have deducted a further debit order. Mthombeli Ntleki, a"senior store supervisor" found it quite fitting to ignore me during my store visit today as he knew that the information he fed me yesterday, was pure BS. I indicated that I wished to escalate the matter to a senior staff member, and was referred to him. He found it more important to answer numerous new telephone calls while I was standing in front of him and waiting to escalate the matter. Why is he managing a store when he can't even manage customers? Mthobeli Ntleki prefers to ignore customers and answer calls than to assist front line customers. What a joke !!!! He represents Mofffit Retail Park Centre - Port Elizabeth.MTN, - Statistics and KPI's mean nothing when you can't look after your customers. Only after I asked for his name and surname, did he acknowledge me as he knew that I was going to complain about his.
I think it's best that I now take the time to log my complaints and utter frustration to ICASA - I'm sure they will find the behaviour of your network quite unprofessional. You are unresponsive, have a "don't care" attitude, and have poorly trained staffthat are unable to manage your customers - what a business!
I'm expecting my contract to cancelled with immediate effect, the minutes removed and a refund app**** to my bank account - in the mean time, I'll be in contact ICASA.
