MTN is the worst Network I have ever used!!!!!!!!

I am trying to make sense of the rate at which my data depletes with MTN.

I have used almost all networks and thus far MTN is the most ridiculous with regards to how fast data finishes.

I have made several attempts to speak to a service consultant to no-avail.

Yesterday 21 July 202 I had 1GB data on my sim card, I used the sim card in my wifi router to be on a Zoom meeting for work. The data finished mid-meeting. I bought 500MB to continue and that too finished, subsequently purchased an additional 200MB and surprisingly that also depleted. Ended up buying 1GB of data to complete my meeting, that too finished.

My worry is that everyone has fallen on hard times due to the global Covid pandemic and MTN is abusing its customers. I have previously used a Vodacom and Telkom Sim card where 1GB will last me 2 weeks.

Please help make sense of how I used this much data in a space of 6hours?

I have removed the MTN sim card from the device and I am using a different network and the data has not depleted.
