MTN is ****, sign contracts with them at your detriment

JOIN MTN AT YOUR OWN RISK... If I could give zero stars I would.

I joined MTN 2021 December at Walmer park and after using it for a week I wasn't happy with the connection so I went to cancel and I was told that since it has been a week I cannot cancel before my contract lapses, so in June 2022 when I got the notification that my contract was lapsing I immediately contacted them to notify contract cancelation. And they have been giving me the run around from then till today 2023 January. I even went to walmer Park MTN and they told me they don't do cancelations only sales so I should reach retention by other means.

I followed up with retention with the reference number *** in August 2022 when I saw that they were still debiting and billing me for the contract and they said they can only cancel if my account is settled otherwise the cancelation won't happen. I paid R350 in August 2022 and sent the proof of payment to them immediately but still my contract is not canceled. They just continue billing me ignoring my communication with their retention teams and my attempts to cancel the contracts. When I follow up they just ask me to send proof that I requested the cancelation (this has happened 3 times) and then nothing happens. Now they have taken me to legal saying I'm owing on the contract they are refusing to cancel, like what the hell? Messing up my credit record.

If you join MTN and sign a contract with them just know you will have to die first before you are released from the contractual agreement. MTN is a *****. They are making money from tieing people up in contracts.
