MTN is rude
How is it possible for a SIM swop to a specific number, that belongs to you, not to be done, especially when you have requested it, via the correct channels and you were assured that it would happen and you have a reference number and proof of request. Then you get a rude message from one of their staff. I have screen shots of my conversation. During this pandemic we are all under stress but it is no reason to be rude or to blame a system. A system can be manually overridden where necessary.

Clause 2 of the Prepaid Terms and Conditions provides as follows:MTN reserves the right to cancel your cellphone number on the MTN Network if you do not use your cellphone number for 90 or more consecutive days for calls. This stems from Numbering Plan Regulations, 2016 issued in terms of the Electronic Communications Act 36 of 2005, which provides as follows:· Numbers are a national resource and are not owned by a licensee to whom they are allocated nor by the subscriber to whom they are assigned. · Regulation 6(3)(g) places an obligation on MTN as a Licensee to ensure that the numbers allocated to it are used effectively and efficiently.
