MTN is not helping

My MTN number got hacked on the 30th of September 2025 around 10am then my WhatsApp go hacked around 1pm which from then the person started asking all my contacts for money, I then went to report the matter at MTN where I was asked to go to the police station and get an affidavit which I didn't understand why I had to do that when I had all the particulars proving that I am the rightful owner of the number, I went to the police station and came back to MTN at Menlyn Maine where it took almost 3 hours of my time for them to tell me that it will take 24 hours for the matter to be resolved, 24 hours later I have not received a call from MTN, the person is still sending my contacts messages demanding for money and pretending to be me to my daughter which is un called for, This person used my airtime and also took airtime advance which I was told I would have to pay back, I am sitting here looking at the MTN app and watching my data decrease every hour, this is really frustrating as people close are being ****med out of money and MTN is not doing anything about it. I just don't understand how it was easy for this person to take my number but I am struggling to block the person and get my number back.
