MTN is not compassionate

My husband passed away on 19th Sept 2015. He has been a loyal MTN customer for a number of years. MTN deducted his monthly subscription amount on 15th Sept and again on 15th Oct. MTN were advised by my lawyers that my husband had passed away and they enquired whether his airtime balance of some R650 could be credited to me as his account was not in arrears and MTN in fact owed him the R650 airtime, which he had in fact paid for. Joe Jacobs (MTN legal dept) was not at all sympathetic to their request and simply rep**** that I (the widow) would have to apply to take over the contract. What about the money that my late husband faithfully paid each and every month and they are now withholding the R650 airtime which he in fact paid for. MTN is not at all customer friendly and the response from Joe Jacobs is not all all compassionate in this regard. In fact I think as an MTN representative his attitude stinks. I will certainly review my MTN contract when it comes up for renewal. I have been a loyal MTN customer since 1998 and if this is their attitude I certainly don't need the likes of MTN. Cell C and Vodacom are far more \people friendly"."""
