MTN is hopeless
I ported my number from Vodacom to MTN on a contract in early December, the contract is a Note 10 plus contract which comes with a gaming console and a R400 voucher to put towards a purchase from the MTN store. Once my number was ported and activated the phone would not receive calls from Vodacom, any person who calls me from Vodacom gets an error saying my number does not exist. I've logged this problem with MTN numerous times (reference numbers *** & now ***, every time I get told to turn my phone on and off and it should work, every time it does not. A month later and I still cant receive calls from Vodacom! Everytime I have to have the same conversation with different consultant and get the same result of no resolution, being told it will be escalated and I must call back in 24 - 72 hours. I find it ridiculous that I'm the one having to constant follow-up with MTN only to be told the same thing over and over again. MTN should be calling me back, there is zero initiative in the customer service department. Then in addition to this never ending circle of joy, I still have not received the gaming console, on collection of the phone I was told to place the order on the Samsung app, I tried and this did not work, I went into the Nicolway branch what a consultant tried to do it again it did not work, the order placement says the IMEI number is already registered and the order cannot be placed. The consultant (Porsha) has promised to speak to Samsung and get back to me but a month later still nothing! Then the cherry on top is I'm due a R400 voucher but the store has not Note 10 plus stock so I can't use it.
