MTN is Evil

Restoring service on my mobile account seems to be impossible. It remains suspended in spite of being fully paid up. SMS message received that the service is being restored a week ago - still waiting for that to happen. The contract period was over years ago and I was paying in advance for service. I have now paid for a few months of service that was not provided. Is this legal? Emails are ignored and the help desk is unreachable.
