MTN is Allowing ******* to Use my ****** Number since they Refuse to Sim Swap/Block it

I lost my phone over the weekend Tuesday 26/09/2023 I go buy new SIM to have a SIM swap done. I followed all the processes and even received an sms stating that it'll be done between 2-24 hours. It's over 24 hours now and when I followed up with MTN on how the SIM Swap is going I'm told that the potential ********s declined my SIM swap and I can not block my own numbers to prevent the ******* from doing bad things or possibly *****ing from me even further. It is now 18H25 with no MTN shop open but MTN want me to wait another day then go to MTN shop in the morning whilst the ******* to proceed to do as they please with my number. I have used MTN all my life but this is total ****. Had app**** for another contract but I suppose I will have to put a halt on that.
