Mtn is a ****up and trying to rip people off
<p>I made attempts to cancel my contract as it was coming to an end last year ,I sent an email and informed them that I have left the country and I don't have any of the simcards that were on the contract and hardly ever used them don't even know the numbers, I asked since I don't have this information is there a way I can cancel my contract ? To this day I haven't even been given a proper feedback all I got was a call on my South African number say I owe 1000 to mtn and they need me to pay it since I didn't cancel my contract , I sent an email requestion a number I can call from outside the country and the only number I was given was + ********** 8 which doesn't even go through , can someone help me sort this out coz I wanted to cancel the contract morethan 6 months ago but i was not even getting any help </p>

Please note that since this will have an impact on my credit rating i will have to take this up with both the Credit ombudsmen as well as NCR as I have never received notification of me owing any amount until last week when I decided to switch my South Africa number on , there are other mediums of communication surely you guys have my email address,
MTN failed to provide feedback even after I sent an email to enquire about the process one needs to take to cancel a contract if they are not present in the country , I had questions which were never attended to , I also sent another email to customer services and I still have not received any feedback, I don't receive any account statements as well from MTN, so how do you even expect me to know that I owe you?
But anyway lesson learned if I ever return to the country I definitely know I won't be using MTN especially when I have been a customer for over 15 yrs , truly disappointed with the way you conduct business ,perhaps you should take lessons from Telkom mobile staff at least the response was within a day and I didn't have allnthe details they required at the time but they still managed to assist me,
