MTN is a ***** up, should be penalised in SA

I took two new contract phones with MTN and unfortunately one was ****** in my room. I called MTN to blacklist the phone, gave them the IMEI number, but they said they cant pick it up, I will need to go to the store, with an affidavit from the police station. I did that, went back to the store and they sent an email to bulk blacklisting. To this day, MTN has not black listed the phone. I know this because I had my tech friend checking on it and its used by a cell c number. The phone was not insured and I am not going to pay for it until you come with proof that you have black listed it. If you want to suspend my line, go ahead, will simple buy a phone and use a different network, you ruin my credit record, go ahead, but I am not going to pay for this ****** phone until you give evidence of its blacklisting. You do a debit order, I will reverse it. You need to treat customers fairly, you will get in SA what you got in Nigeria. If I have to mobilize people, Il do that.

Hello bonginkosipnkosi,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

Please take note that if the MTN sim card has not been used in the sim card while the device has been ****** we cannot blacklist from our side due to the IMEI number will then reflect on the other provider system due to the Cell sim card used in the device while ******.

If the sim card has been used with one of cell C sim card then C need to blacklist the handset for you.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
