Mtn is a **** and their consultants are trained that way.

I spoke to an Mtn consultant to order a Huawei Nova 5t in September the 4th 2020 stating that I would not like to pay a lot for my contract, it sold for R399 for 24 months. She stated that they don't have it in stock and suggested a p40 as an alternative at R650. I told her it was steep but that I'd take it at 24 months. I further asked what the difference is between purchasing online a walk in store, to which she responded that there are no sim connectivity charges and that I'd only start paying in October 2020 The sale was almost concluded and she asked for pays lips, I'd copy and a statement. I was unsure if I wanted the phone so I stalled in sending the documents. I had a previously existing data contract with them for R199 so my guess is they used those details and several days later the phone was delivered with an invoice that says nothing about the contract term. The phone frustrated me in that the search engine was something else and had no Google playstore so apps are a pain to obtain. I was unhappy with the product but I decided to give it a chance. That month I was billed R288 for sim connection which the consultant said would not be charged. Still I let it slide. In the month of October the first bill came and it was nothing like we'd agreed. It was R1106. I immediately sent an email to Mtn for them to fetch the phone as I could not afford it and the amount was nothing like we had agreed. *********. Furthermore, I went to a local Mtn store seeking assistance only to discover the contract is actually 36 months. Since the 25th of October 2020 I've tried to plead with Mtn to advise me on the safest way to return the device. Consultats send me from pillar to posts from shop to shop. I reversed 2 of the payments as I've informed them that I cannot afford the New price. Mtn further refused my request for the call recordings. Now I am being issued with the statement to py R15000 to canncel the contract. This would make sense if I actually wanted to keep the phone. I've worked hard to have a good credit record and Mtn is being a bully. The fact that my address shows that I'm from a village /small town probably has them thinking I'm a toy. I want no further product associated with Huawei or Mtn. I've been a loyal customer for years and I've never had issues with them. Sad that it has to end this way. And best believe I'll evangelize this to all my friends and family and anyone who cares to listen what a **** and a bully Mtn is.
