MTN is a "******* SPECIALIST" I speak from experience, beware!!!!!!!

MTN is a ******* company, I bought a 20GB DATA STARTER PACK at the beginning of August 2022 for R149, from an MTN store at the Savann Mall in Polokwane. They claimed to have loaded the data onto the sim card. However, when I got home, I installed it in one of my two modems, but it did not work. I went back to the store to report the inconvenience. The lady that attended to me took the starter pack and installed onto a phone, their phone, then she told me that it is now working, "VERY IMPORTANTLY", she told me that the data is divided into daily packages and allocated daily. What surprised me, was when she said that at the end of the day, the daily allocation lapses, even if it had not been used, thereby justifying why 2GB has been used even though I had not used it. I went home but it continued not to work, then about a week later, I went back to the store. They did whatever they did and told me that it has been sorted out. However, they told me that, as the 20GB is divided into a 10GB for daytime and another 10GB for night, they had discovered that 2GB had been used. I remonstrated with them, telling them that if the sim card was working, I would not have come back register a complaint. Since they could not help me, I decided to go to the Provincial MTN office where I was attended to by a staffer by the name of Patric Mampe. After whatever he did and consulting with colleagues, he told me that that simcard can only be used in an MTN modem only, and not in a phone or any other modem. I told him that, the information that he had just given me, vindicates me that I indeed I could not use the sim card. to my surprise however, he informed me that according to their records, the whole 10GB daily allocation had been used and that 2 GB of the night had a balance of 8GB, meaning that 2GB had been used. When I told him that based on the information that he had given me, refer above for details, I could not have been the one using the data. Finally, he told me that they would look at the matter and revert to me. Last Friday, I went back to the Provincial office for feedback, to my surprised, Patric had changed his story, he now told me that that same simcard could be used in any modem, and in any phone, thereby telling me that I had used the data. I have reached out to ICASA for help, but they seem not bothered with my case. I would like to ward South Africans that they should be careful, and ensure that they avoid "BIG FAT CAT MTN RIPOFF KING"
