MTN is a ****mer

My most recent experience has convinced me that MTN is not a trustworthy service provider. This was the second time that the exact same thing happened, and so it is clear that it is actually a tactic that they implement to squeeze their customers for more money. Here's what happened:

I had a 36 month contract with MTN which was coming to an end. I'd already decided that I would not continue my contract but would switch to prepaid. MTN started hassling me with phone calls at inconveninent time and at one point I answered the call to say that I knew my contract was coming to an end, but that I would not continue my contract and would liek to change to prepaid.

About a month later I happened to be on the app and saw that my amount owed was about R500 more than it should be. When I called MTN they told me that I had authorised a migration of two of my packages to more expensive packages. Since I live on a tight budget I knew I would never have authorised anything that would cost more.

I asked MTN for the call (since they always say calls are recorded) and they said it would take 3-7 working days. I followed up several times in the days following. MTN never got in touch with me to give me an update on things. I always had to call them to find out what was going on. They kept shunting me from one department to another. Eventually someone confirmed that the migrations were reversed, but by then my debit order had already gone off. They told me that I'd have to call the sales department to get them to credit the money. But the sales department said again it wold take x amount of business days to investigate. Not sure what needed to be investigated again, but more investigation. I asked them to credit the amount to my account, since I had one more payment to go, but was met with delay tactics that are very reminiscent of ****mers. They told me again it would take x days just to log the request for a refund. Not saying anything about how many business days to actually process the refund.

Now my final debit order has gone off, but no credit or refund has been received. 3 months later and I am still trying to get back the money that MTN stole.

Their customer service "champions" are robots that don't care and that just follow a script to ensure you never make any progress. Supervisors are never available and never call back. MTN is a ****mer at heart with no integrity, decency or consideration for the customers that they rob.
