MTN is a ******** Organisation
MTN is the worst nework service provider in South Africa. I upgraded to a new handset in September 2018 as a last resort when my spare phone stopped working. However the new phone (Sony Xperia XA2) drops off the network completely from time to time and when it is connected to the network, data connection is unstable at best. So I contacted MTN coverage who told me to call customer care who told me to call coverage. Coverage then sent me a web link to fill out a form. Later I received a return email stating that it is not a coverage problem and I should go to a store so they can check if it's the device or sim. The phone works fine with a sim from another network and I did a sim swap 3 months after the upgrade with no improvement. So I decided I will send the phone in for repairs so it can be assessed by "professionals". It turns out, to send a phone in for repairs even in contract period; the customer is liable for courier fees, handling fees and repair costs. This is nothing short of **************** and MTN is nothing other than a ******** organisation.
I would advise anyone against signing a contract with these *********. If MTN wants to set this right, send me an email : **********
