MTN IS A ****

On 13 March 2026 I made an MTN online application for a Samsung A36 for 24 months for R360 and then called into MTN because I wanted some validation about the bill that was sent to me via email. Instead I was misled by agent into wanting to get a sale. By telling me that she does not see the promotion on her end ( the one that I app**** for online) and stated that she can do it for me because the application that I did on my own will not work. I agreed thinking that it will be same offer she explained. When she did the mandate and read the terms and conditions I heard her say 36 months instead of 24 months I immediately told her NO as I mentioned numerous times that I do not want a 36 month contract. She then said that she will cancel the application and will give me time to think about it and call me back on Monday 16 March 2026 and we ended the call.

When the call ended I received a contract that I never consent too. Then on the 14 March 2026 I went to the MTN store in Vangate Mall to cancel the online application as the agent did not do it and I spoke to a consultant named Warda and she said that she cancelled it. I no longer want anything from MTN because of the agent that misled me. I know calls are being recorded so going back to the recording you will see that I didn't not agree.

On Monday 16 March 2026 I called in and spoke to head office and told them to remove my personal details and to not contact me anymore. The lady I spoke to said that there is nothing open on my name and that she will attend to my request. After that call I have been constantly getting calls from MTN and blocked the business number. Today the 20 March 2026 I get a call from the courier guy telling me that he has a parcel for me, I immediately told him I do not want any parcel and to take it back.

I recommend anyone looking to take anything from MTN to review your contracts carefully and be careful of dishonest agents wanting a sale, and also if this could happen to me it would happen to you too. Do Not Take Anything From MTN I Repeat You Will Regret It.
