MTN Insurance Nightmare!!!

Where do I start? MTN device insurance is a total waste of time. I had taken out a contract in 2013 with a Samsung s6 edge. Took out insurance on the device and all was great. The phone was then damaged and they said unfortunately it cannot be repaired. So moved forward bought a phone cash and carried on. Move forward a few years and I go to get a new Samsung s9 plus. whilst signing up for the offer I was asked would I like insurance on the device ? I insisted absolutely not as last time it was useless and left me without a phone. 2years of the contract go past and I decided time for a new phone. Went and bought a phone cash. Call MTN and canceled the contract. Months after I start to receive SMS messages insisting that I owe MTN money. I go in store and demand they show me what is the money for and they cannot find anything shows no account on their system. I get advised by staff inside MTN Carnival mall it is spam and I should ignore it. Months later SMS turn to phone calls. Very rude debt collection people phone me day and night insisting I owe MTN money. I take it upon myself again to go instore and try sort this out. no luck still insist no account is there must be spam. ignore it I'm told. After much digging around I finally found luck in KZN while on business at an MTN store. All of a sudden it shows on the system I owe money for device insurance? I told them but I didn't have insurance on my device. To which they reply oh its for a Samsung s6 edge...… I have complained and said how can you still be charging me for insurance on a device that you yourselves marked as unrepairable and which I never received back?. Long story short they insist it is unto the customer to inform them of a broken device so they can terminate the insurance. I now have been blacklisted due to them not being able to sort out this mess and it has impacted heavily on my life. I am unable to take out any cellphone contracts at all or any loans. My credit rating has been tarnished due to MTN. To add insult to injury I went through statements of this so called insurance cost and found they charged me an average of R141 per month but on one such month they decided to slip in a charge for an extra R1000..... To which would have covered months of these costs. After all this I go instore to just get rid of this headache and try to pay this money to just try get my name cleared but as I walk into pay I am told sorry you cant pay our system is offline. Please to all reading this please check your paying your correct amounts and know where you stand. I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone.
