MTN insurance is a ****.
I lost my phone on the 1st of January and reported it to one of the MTN shops on the 6th. I was then asked to go and make an affidavit bring it back and an insurance claim will be processed. The sales consultant then sells me another phone which I bought cause I can't live without a phone already it's been 6 days.
I work literally 7 days a week. So I don't have time to make a follow up. I sat for 2 months from Jan up to Mar first week I called the claims department to find out how far the claim is and the answer was "we see it but we need a case number from SAPS" same week I then decide to take time off to go to SAPS and get a case number.
I walk into the police station with the affidavit I had made in Jan and requested them to open a case. I was told it's 2 months late why only now 'and belive me it wasn't as gentle as it is on this statement' the lady was loud and extremely rude.... However eventually she assists I get a case number go back to the same branch I proceed the claim at first to assist again.
Few days later I call the claims department to find out if all documents were received this time around. And yes again they confirm the claim was received I'll get feedback in 3_4days.
Its the end of yet another week. Now I'm literally paying for 2 phone's 1 I have in my hands the other is ****** yet I had insurance. I should've been told from Jan that a case number is needed not just an affidavit.
I must say I'm highly disappointed in MTN I've been using it for years I even told my wife I want to cancel Insurance cause there's no point for it.
Poor service delivery. Poor follow up with customer's. All MTN is concerned about is money not the needs and wellbeing of its customers. It's now 3 full months without a phone no care in the world.
