MTN Insurance Horrible Service

I had my phone insured with MTN and had not claimed until after 23 months when my phone got damaged. Filling in the forms and getting the device booked in for repairs was not a problem. The problem came when they had to actually fix my phone. At first I waited a whole week before getting any form of feedback as to what stage of repairs the phone is in. By the way this is the only smartphone I have. Anyways, I decided to start calling the insurance people and find out what's happening. I realized that no one from the call center had any idea as to what is happening, and instead they have to rely on the repair center, which half the time didn't answer their phones. I kept calling these people. Everyday I would have to call and get the same kind of feedback. It went on for a month. The service I have received from the MTN insurers was absolutely horrible for what I was paying. The matter was not treated with any form of urgency. Anyways, after 3 weeks, I was told my device was in quality control. Which means soon I could get my phone back. That was a lie. I waited another week, and I called everyday with no proper feedback from anyone. The call center agents promise to call but never do. Last week Friday I decided to start shouting and demanding for my device to return. Only then did the manager of it get involved, he refused to speak to me, instead I kept talking to the consultants who put me on hold. By the end of the day, after all that shouting and threatening, I was told my device was beyond repair and I needed to get a new device. Which meant a higher excess. That was fine. I paid the fee. Waited until Monday and there was no feedback, these people open on Saturday by the way. Only when I called did they see my paperwork and start the process. They said they would call me back and you guessed it, no one called. I call them today to enquire about my replacement device, I am told oh they didn't find it and I have to choose another one. No one called or emailed to inform me of this. They are now offering me phones less than my insured value and I am told that's all that they can give me. I am so tired of fighting those people. I am literally looking at their in store yellow trader and the prices of the phones they are offering are way less than what I am insured for.. The experience was absolutely horrific. I thought getting Cellphone insurance meant peace of mind but with MTN I felt like I went to hell and back. Almost 2 months later and I am without a phone. Worst experience ever. I ended up cancelling my contract because I cannot continue to give them business while they treat me like ****.
