MTN Insurance Disrespects Clients

On the 22 December 2016, I slipped and fell while holding my Apple IPhone6 that is MTN Insured. The screen damaged as a result. On the 23 December 2016, I went to MTN Repair Centre in Midrand where I was told that MTN has outsourced their insurance to a Company called Pinnacle Marketing and their based in Durban. MTN had never before alerted me that they are outsorcing the management of theri Insurance to a third party.

I was given a form to fill and email to the said comapany, which I did and sent it on the same day. I got an sms confirmation that my claim has been registered and a few days later an sms was sent to notify me that there's an outstanding information which was required and a claim consultant would call me. THIS NEVER HAPPENED.

I then decided to walk in to MTN Store at Forest Hill Mall and was told that it is a holiday and the Insurance people are off. Following this visit, I then sent the claim form on the 28 December 2016, this time attaching my ID Copy as I thought this might be the outstanding information required. I was still rep**** to by an SMS that indicated that there's some information missing and i will receive a call. THIS NEVER HAPPENED!

On the 18 January 2017, I walked in again at Forest Hill Mall MTN Store, the consultant that helped the other time, took my form and ID Copy, scanned and emailed it again and said she will follow up with the insurance people the next day and give me a call afterwards. THIS TOO NEVER HAPPENED!

On Friday 20 January 2017, I received yet another sms that said that there's outstanding information and I will receive a call. THIS TOO NEVER HAPPENED!

I have tried in countless occassions to call but the number just rings unanswered for tens of minutes!

I pay my contract and insurance ahead of time each month and didnt expect this kind of treatment from a company that has to do everything to enhance its customer experience given its reputation in Nigeria. I am left wondering whether is this not a case of MTN milking us poor clients as much as they can.
