MTN insurance claims ignored

i have a Microsoft Lumia 535 on contract. the USB port to charge has not been connecting. I took the phone to the MTN Service centre in Midrand on 4 january. the next day we collected the phone and they said there were some *****s loose. I received the phone back with 40% battery life. by wedneday 6 Jan the phone was dead. I went to MTN KOlonade and they advised to do an insurance claim.
To confirm what was wrong i took the phone to Nokia in Hatfield. they confirmed it was the USB charge port.
The claim was submitted via email on 8 Jan. the web page say there is a 3 day response. The email confirmation said 5 days. ( email ref ***0. to date no response has been received and i have a dead phone.
to try phoning the MTN insurance call centre number is a waste of time. after 60min i gave up on 3 occassions and that is phoning at 8am.
