my insured phone got lost/****** on the 30/10/2016, I called MTN ********** same day to report while at police station trying to open the case, they deactivated my number and said I must contact them on the 31/10/2016 for them to give me a referenece number which I will then have to give to the police, since the 30th is on a Sunday and they are only able to give me a reference number only on week days.

I phoned today and they say the cant link my phone number to my IMEI, I spent almost two hours on the phone with no joy

I have one number/sim card, but I purchased a special of two devices(tablet and phone), so both are insured under the same number(I have emails approving this)

please help as none in the insurance, customer care, and ********** departments could help

my policy number is CNS ********** 824

contract account number is **********

the ****** device is the Sumsang J1 mini.

thank you for your response.
yes there should be 2 IMEI numbers and devices, but only one sim card number is linked to both, I purchased a package of both, the call centre consultant could also see both, but she told me she could link them to my number therefore could not give the ITC/ICT number.
Kindly provide me with the reference number that I need to give to the police station.
Warm regards
