MTN insurance claim rejected

I have been paying cellphone insurance for the past year. My phone was ****** from my car and I claimed under my insurance for a replacement. My claim was denied as the handset had a different simcard in although my insurance is on the device. Nowhere does it state my contract simcard needs to be in my insured handset. I have reported my situation to the ombudsman for help. No feedback as yet from any of the parties. May I please have clarity regarding my rejected claim and where in my contract with MTN does it state I need to have a contract simcard in my insured handset?
