MTN Insurance - Be warned

Disgusted with the service received. Phone was ****** on Saturday, no worries because there is insurance on the device right? WRONG. After the stress of having my phone ****** and the effort to try and get my sim swop done (which can I mention was not done in the 24 hours, meaning I had to drive back to the store and got told something failed and they only then did it almost 27 hours later!!) I was told that my claim was declined because my phone was unattended in a public place. Please explain to me how this is possible? The phone was with me in my bag on the side of the soccer field in a secure fenced off area with a security guard. How could I have prevented this from occurring?? Nowhere in your policy does it specifically state this. Isn't all theft due to someone seeing an opportunity and taking a chance? Is this what you do so that you do not have to pay out any claims? Yet your insurance has been paid every month without fail from my side? This is disgraceful and I have never in all my years of being insured heard of such *******. Theft happens accidentally but MTN punishes their clients for the current ******** situation in this country. I am not willing to accept this outcome and if this is not seen to I will take this matter to the ombudsman and then the media, as I have noticed a pattern with MTN insurance and perhaps the citizens of this country should be made aware of this so that they are not in my situation now - no phone, insurance paid, no assistance from this third party company MTN uses for their insurance.
