MTN Insurance

on the 1st November i was held at gunpoint and ****** of my cellphone and purse. i put in a claim with mtn for my ****** phone, and after 9 weeks was approved for a new handset to the value of R8,000. when i upgraded my contract and confirmed my insurance i opted to pay the montly insurance for the value of R15,000. on the 10th November i started contacting mtn to query why i was only covered for R8,000 when i was paying a monthly insurance premium for the insured value of R15,000. i then sent an email to the MTN obudsman whom you should contact if you are unhappy with the outcome of your insurance. since then i have been sending emails to both MTN and Guardrisk with regard to the claim. on the insurance application form you get to choose the amount of cover you want and how much you will pay. if you choose to be covered for the highest amount, who are they to decide how much to pay you out? why give the customer the option of choosing? and whats the point of paying that monthly premium if you are not even covered for that amount? they tried to give me some **** story that they cover to the value of the phone. but the value has obviously decreased since i had started using the phone. and if that is their policy then why not stipulate the amount you are insured for and confirm what the premium for that amount?? i am so frustrated that not one of the 5 people copied into ALL of my emails have the decency to respond? the service is absolutely disgusting. i even sent them an email stating that they were just being plain rude to not even acknowledge my email. even though i get read receipts. how can they be so unprofessional??? to date nothing has happened. and there is absolutely no point calling the MTN insurance line as you mght die before your call gets answered. they never pick up the call. or you hold for more than an hour before eventually you get through to someone, or the call simply just gets cut. it is so frustrating and upsetting. i dont understand how it can be so hard? its a month since my phone has been ****** and i still do not have a replacement.....
