MTN: Inefficient, ******** and Hopeless Service

I have been with MTN for approximately 17 years. This past year the service has deteriorated to such a point where MTN is completely unusable.

For the last eight months I have been trying to set a cap on my data contract with MTN. Despite about 12 store visits, spending hours on the phone during at least 15 calls to 808 and signing and submitting many forms MTN had still not managed to do anything. During this period we were charged R3125.24 for a R119 contract in May 2015 as we believed the migration was successful.

Discovering this at the end of July I visited MTN Nicol Way and after a lot of issues physically confirmed the contract had now been successfully migrated to top up. However, this information proved incorrect again and at the end of August I received an invoice of R3338.95 for an account that should cost R135! I went back to the Nicol Way and was notified that though the migration was successful the activation failed and so was overcharged.

MTN and its staff have consistently been unhelpful, ******** and unable to resolve this issue. I am still fighting to get a refund for the recent invoice and seriously looking into changing providers. Latest ***

Hello Tarryn880828,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I am terribly sorry for the inconveniences experienced as a result this. I completely understand the frustration it causes. Please note a credit has been processed and it is awaiting for approval from the billing division and once it reflects the amount will be refunded to your account.

We understand that the entire experience must be very frustrating and hope that we can restore your faith in us.

Best regards
Mantoa
