Mtn incompetence

I bought a Hisense U963 phone at Ackermans Sabie branch on 26 June 2021. It is on the Mtn network and is network locked for the first 12 months. I must say that since I bought the phone, It caused me endless nightmares. The problems are so many, I wouldn't know where to begin. Finally the phone became totally un-useable and I took it back to Ackermans on 02 February this year. Ackermans sent in for repairs and about a month later I received a call to collect my phone, which I did. It was working again, but would often go back to its old tricks even up to this day. A year has passed, the warrantee is expired and so should the network lock be. But it is still network locked. I dialed *135#/0 more/9 request device network unlock and I got the reply;"Imei not recognized please call our call centre." I called the call centre and was told to go to an Mtn store/shop. I went to the Mtn shop in Sabie. The lady there told me that she was never trained to network unlock phones, yet she spent a great deal of time trying to help me( hats off to her) by calling Mtn call centre or whoever at Mtn. One suggested she dialed *141*5#. Failed. Another this. Failed again. She kept trying and was mostly sent from pillar to post. Finally, a very experienced lady on the other side of the line told her to tell me to take the phone to the shop where I bought it and they will unlock it for me. Ackermans network unlocks phones? Failed again. That's when I had to agree that Mtn is totally ***********.

I also got tired talking to their useless call centre staff. Well, I am still stuck with a network locked phone and I am being forced to only use their expensive Mtn data which I can't afford and which disappears with the electricity during load- shedding.( no other sim works for internet). Mtn, why do you sell poor quality unfixable phones? Why sell network locked phones when you know that you are not planning to unlock them or that you have no Idea how to unlock them? Please do the right thing for me and many others.
