MTN Incompetence

Well MTN. Total ineptitude and incompetence. That's all I can say. I On Thursday 11th December I upgraded to a new MTN contract. I did this online assuming that it would be quicker. My upgrade was approved and they told me that my new phone would be delivered within 1-3 working days. That would make it Tuesday latest. You also informed me AFTER YOU ACCEPTED MY UPGRADE that MTN will only deliver to the owner concerned which makes it very difficult in gated communities such as mine. To make matters even more complicated, I don't have a phone (my old one broke) and I would be expecting a call when the new phone was ready to be delivered. This means I had to borrow an old phone and insert my sim card so that I could receive the call. To make matters even worse MTN coverage at our house is very poor so I had to sit outside all day waiting for the incoming call from MTN, which never came. On the Tuesday (16th) I received a call from MTN saying that the phone would arrive on Thursday 18th and that it would arrive between 9am and 12am. Meanwhile it was a freezing day and I had to wait outside for the call. I finally received a call a6 16:30 that the driver was on his way. I met him at the gate to our complex and of course I failed the biometrics because I am 77 years old and you won't find a senior citizen whose prints are not totally worn down. So, one week later I still have no phone. If I can't have it today I am cancelling my new contract and will stop my debit order forthwith. If you wish to discuss anything with me you will, have to ring me on my landline on ***. I can no longer wait outside in anticipation for you to call at your own convenience. If the phone does not arrive today I don't want it. This is breach contract. I am going to the Kruger tomorrow and was hoping to use the new phone to take pictures. MTN you are s****ing the barrel. I would also like to know why you need to go through the whole FICA thing with biometrics and a wasn't purchasing a SIM card.
