MTN impossible cancellations

MTN makes it impossible to cancel contacts, even long-expired ones. Was advised by Baywest that LTE data contacts can be cancelled at any time with immediate effect. I logged a request in store for cancellation. FYI MTN self-service website is not working. The phone system is terrible, the IVR going in circles and then disconnecting. Was hung up on by retentions, had to call back several times and battle through, then finally get through and when cancelled I received an email stating that the date is 21-01-2026 - i.e. it is NOT immediate, this is a contract that ended more than a year previously. The Retentions department also very aggressively marked a new contact. I will never deal with MTN again. Their customer service was non-existent and their systems are terrible.
