MTN *******ly ported my number resulting in credit card *****

MTN *******ly ported my cellphone number from Telkom, due to this, ***** and theft to the tune of R10200 was ****** from my credit card. I was advised by Nedbank that they cannot do anything as an Approve-it message and OTP was sent to my ****** number, therefore authorising the transactions.

Three purchases were made using my credit card, R4000, R6000 and R200. The R4000 and R6000 were at TFG.co.za and the other a KFC voucher for R200. Due to the fact that my number had been ****** from me, I never received any Nedbank Approve-it messages or sms's in order to refuse the purchases.

I immediately contacted Nedbank (on receipt of an email from them) to report the ***** and contacted Telkom as I noticed my phone was not receiving sms's and incoming calls. Telkom confirmed that the number had been taken over by MTN and that it had been ported late at night. Now over a week later waiting for Nedbank, they contacted me today to advise that I need to take the matter up with MTN.

MTN, I want to know how it is that you can *******ly port my number without my SIM information and without my ID. I have been a victim of identity theft and *****! I contacted your call centre the day it happened and the consultant confirmed the number was with you but was unable to get any further information from him.

MTN, you are responsible for this as you *******ly ported my number. Are you going to pay back what was ****** from me?!

I have been in contact with your call centre (spoke to Amanda) and emailed my complaint and have not received any feedback or assistance. Amanda could not even give me a reference number to follow up.
