MTN ******* SPAM marketing.
As per numerous other reports, I cannot get MTN to stop spamming me with messages, some at 4am... I have contacted the call center, with 3 reference numbers. I have tried their USSD dialstrings (which fail whenever to try revoke consent: convenient?) I have revoked via the app, and re-revoked after MTN reversed my settings. I have emailed their help center. I have Facebooked. I have had numerous engagements on Twitter DMs.
I have revoked any permission to market, yet MTN refuses to honour this. This is *******. I have submitted complaint to ICASA, and am trying to understand whether this is a WASPA issue too (I doubt it).
I've had enough, and I believe I have sufficient documentation for the regulator to impose a fine: something which I will pursue.
With due respect, I would not be complaining in the event that marketing content had ceased at that initial complaint.
You can enquire from you social media guys.

The whole feature of my complaint is that I’ve done literally everything that can be expected: call centre, USSD, emails, App settings: you name it, and I’ve tried it.
There is no existing list or database that I can find that has any kind of marketing consent, and yet I still received a data promotion SMS at 04:51 on Friday morning, and a zero-rating CVM message at 23:34 the same day.
The direct communication is bad enough. The timing (both messages woke me up) adds insult to injury, and I’ve had enough.
