MTN icasa law countermeasures

Since new icasa law preventing mobile operators from *****ing out of bundle data, MTN now took measures to reciperate lost profits. USSD menus for data need multiple confirmations for simple transactions to buy data trying to push customers to opt in. Another strategy MTN seems to have resorted to is adding a time delay after buying data bundles before they are app**** to frustrate customers (in the aim of making them opt in obviously). Reallu horrible experience.

Good Day Suraj

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry to have disappointed you with the lapse in service, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Please note when you purchase a new Data bundle through USSD you will be presented with an Auto-renew option, which you will need to activate. Every time the Data bundle is used up/depleted, you will automatically be reloaded with another data bundle and this will be charged from your airtime.
Kindly note that for the Data bundle to Auto-renew, you will need to have a positive airtime balance(enough airtime to load that particular Data bundle) and you should be Opted-Out from Out-of-Bundle Data charging.
We would like to assure you that it is not our intention to dissatisfy any of our clients.

Warm RegardsBrendah Langa
