MTN HVRC BAD SERVICE (Job card ALWIC***)

I took my phone in for repairs to Midrand High Volume Repair Centre (HVRC) on 10Dec. When I called to check on the status later that day I was told that my phone would be replaced as they cannot fix it and they are currently waiting for stock. I left the country and could not call HVRC to follow up. When I got back early in Jan I called several times, holding on the line no less than 10min each time. I was rerouted to some call centre (not the HVRC according to the agents) and was told time and time again that the HVRC is still awaiting stock for my phone

When I called yet again this morning (30Jan, yes 7 whole wks after I took my phone in) I was told that my phone had been replaced a whole 2 wks ago, all I have to do is pay a charge on the repairs and I can come collect my phone. This charge, upon investigation was found to be an error on the system

Why does the phone take 5wks to replace (only about 1 or 2wks can be blamed on the Dec shutdown)
Why was the progress not communicated to me via phone call, email, sms, smoke signal??
Why was there an error on the system?
And why was I not told about this charge (error or not) that stood in the way of my getting my phone back??!??
